London's largest UNESCO World Heritage Site spends a fortnight in October being haunted on purpose, and the trail through it is a mile and a half long.
Halloween at Kew 2026 dates and times
Friday 16 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Two sets of hours: 16 to 24 October, 6pm to 10pm; 25 October to 1 November, 4pm to 10pm, when the clocks have gone back. The gardens close at 10pm and last entry is 8.30pm. Entry is at the Victoria, Elizabeth and Brentford Gates only.
What is on the trail
New this year: Dracula's Lair, a Cursed Tomb, a Medieval Dungeon, a Forest Ritual among the trees, and a Monster Disco under skull-shaped mirror balls to finish. The Headless Horseman returns, there is a tunnel of lit pumpkin heads, and live actors — a grave robber, a witch, an executioner, a mummy — are stationed along the route, with fire performers between them.
Choosing a time slot
Kew sells three kinds of evening. Daylight sessions run up to 6pm and are pitched at younger children. Twilight runs 6pm to 7.30pm, with the scares building. Moonlight, after 7.30pm, is the darkest and the spookiest, though Kew says it is still suitable for everyone.
Halloween at Kew ticket prices
Member adult from £16.75 off peak and £20.55 peak; non-member adult from £19.50 off peak and £24 peak. Family and child tickets are sold, and a limited number of anytime entries. This is a separately ticketed event: the £1 concession tickets that apply to standard daytime entry do not apply to it.
Who makes it
Kew produces it with RG Live and Sony Music, and it is designed by Culture Creative — the team behind Christmas at Kew.
The clock change on 25 October is the thing worth planning around. Before it, a 6pm slot begins in near-dusk and the first quarter of the trail is not really lit; after it, the 4pm slots are dark enough to work and cheaper to get into. Bicycles, scooters and skateboards must be left at the gates, which matters if that is how you were going to get a tired child around a mile and a half of gravel.
