The Southbank Centre's big Christmas show this year goes down the rabbit hole. Cirque Alice retells Lewis Carroll's story with acrobats rather than actors: aerialists, contortionists, dancers and puppetry, with guest musicians playing contemporary arrangements of classical favourites.

Dates, length and price

It runs at the Royal Festival Hall from Saturday 12 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. A performance lasts about two hours. Tickets start at £35, and the hall warns that prices may move with demand.

Ringside tables

Some seats are not in the auditorium at all. Ringside table tickets put you on the stage itself, close enough to the aerialists to feel the draught.

Children

The show is for ages 5 and up. Everyone needs a ticket except babes in arms aged 18 months and under, and under-12s must sit next to the adult they came with. Haze is used during the performance.

Accessible performances

Thursday 17 December at 3pm is BSL-interpreted, Monday 28 December at 3pm is captioned, and Tuesday 29 December at 7.30pm is audio-described.
