Halloween is one night; the Day of the Dead comes straight after it. On Sunday 1 November 2026 Camden Market marks Día de los Muertos at Hawley Wharf, the canalside part of the market, with an afternoon of mariachi, Catrinas and Mexican food, and it costs nothing to go.

Date, times and price

Sunday 1 November 2026, 1pm to 7pm. The festival is free and open to everyone, and so is every activity in it. Camden Market asks visitors to book a free place on its Eventbrite page, but no ticket is needed on the day and walk-ins are welcome.

What is on

Parades led by Catrinas, the elegant skeleton ladies of the Mexican holiday, and by mariachi bands move across the site through the afternoon, and a stage holds live music and dance performances. Around them are traditional decorations, an altar, cactus gardens, face-painting and a market of Mexican stalls, food and drink.

The drop-in workshops include a chocolate experience and papel picado, the cut-paper banners strung over the streets for the Day of the Dead. The market pitches the day at friends, families and children alike.

Camden Market has not published a timetable for the parades, the stage or the workshops, and names no performers, so plan on the afternoon rather than on a particular set.

Where it is

Camden Market Hawley Wharf, 1 Dockray Place, London NW1 8QH, by the Regent's Canal in Camden Town, north London. Camden Town Underground station is a few minutes' walk away.

Halloween that is still on

The Halloween weekend runs into the same Sunday elsewhere in London: the ghosts of Halloween at the Tower of London appear until 4pm, and the light-up beetle of Halloween at Leadenhall Market is free to see on its last day.

With no published timetable, the parades are the thing you cannot plan for, and they move across the whole site: arrive by mid-afternoon, buy something to eat and stay put near the stage, and the Catrinas and the mariachi will come past. The free Eventbrite place is not a condition of entry, but it costs nothing and is the market's way of counting heads, so book one if your plans are firm. Dress for a canalside November afternoon, since most of it happens outdoors and the light goes before five.
