Mr Bean has barely been on a stage at all — a couple of short charity appearances aside, the character has lived on screen since 1990. This winter he gets thirty nights in the West End, and Blackadder comes with him.

Dates

30 performances from Monday 8 February to Saturday 13 March 2027, at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on Drury Lane. Press night is 16 February. Booking opened on 7 October 2026.

Tickets

From £35, with no booking fee when bought from LW Theatres, the theatre's own box office; every ticket includes a £2 restoration levy. Recommended for ages 12+. Running time is still to be confirmed.

What is in it

Sketches and characters from across Atkinson's career — Mr Bean, Blackadder and material from Not the Nine O'Clock News — alongside new material written with his long-time collaborators Richard Curtis, Ben Elton and Howard Goodall. Goodall writes the music; Raz Shaw directs.

Why now

Atkinson's last comedy sketch show in the West End was forty years ago. Announcing this one, he said he thought it would be fun to perform again "the sketches that began it all".

Access

A captioned performance on Monday 1 March and an audio-described one on Monday 8 March.

The Gillian Lynne was the New London Theatre until 2018, when it was renamed after the choreographer of Cats — which ran in this building for twenty-one years. Holborn and Covent Garden are the nearest Tube stations, both a short walk from Drury Lane. With thirty performances and a name this size, the realistic plan is to pick a date early and hold it rather than wait for the press night reviews: a sketch show has no plot to spoil, and the performances before 16 February are the same evening. Buy from LW Theatres or through the official site, which leads there; resale listings for a run this short are where the £35 seat stops being £35.
