London's Christmas Snowman is back at the Peacock Theatre from 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, and this year it is new. The Snowman has played to theatre audiences for 32 years; this Christmas brings a brand-new production from Birmingham Repertory Theatre, presented with Sadler's Wells.
The show
It is still Raymond Briggs' story: a boy's snowman comes to life and flies him across the night sky to meet Father Christmas, the reindeer and a gathering of snow people under the northern lights. Howard Blake's music and libretto stay, Walking in the Air included.
Who made it
Will Tuckett directs and choreographs. Anna Fleischle designs, and the puppets are by Tahra Zafar, who made Paddington for the West End.
Tickets
From £18, plus a £4 transaction fee. Family tickets on selected price bands: £105 for three and £140 for four at off-peak performances, £150 and £200 at peak ones. Every child aged 2 and over needs a ticket.
How long
1 hour 30 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
Access performances
A relaxed performance on Wednesday 2 December at 2.30pm, and an audio-described performance with a touch tour on Saturday 12 December at 2.30pm.
Getting there
The Peacock is on Portugal Street, off Kingsway; the nearest Tube is Holborn.
The family ticket is the line to read before booking: four seats off-peak for £140 is £35 a head, against single seats that run to £45, so a family of four at an off-peak matinee saves the most. At ninety minutes with an interval, this is the right length of show for a first trip to the theatre, and the matinees end in good time for tea. A child turning two before the performance needs a seat of their own, so count them in when you choose the family band.
